You may have heard about a new diet floating colse to called the 4 hour body diet plan which apparently claims that you can lose 20 pounds in 30 days without doing any exercise. Does this diet have any merit to it?

The reply may be surprising: Yes, the 4 hour body diet plan in effect does have merit.

Now you might say, "wait a minute, I've read some reviews by experts and they claim that it's just a gimmick and won't work"!

Many of these "experts" are very much out of touch will real world results. First of all, this diet is in effect nothing new, and variations of it have been used successfully for decades by bodybuilders in order to accomplish immense weight loss and incredible leanness in a short amount of time without any drugs.

Here's are the foods that you eat: Protein foods such as chicken, lean beef, steak, fish, and eggs. Along with protein foods you consume as much vegetables as you like: spinach, carrots, broccoli, etc. Here are the foods that you avoid: Heavy carbohydrates such as breads, pastas, potatoes, cereal, and so forth. Also off limits are sugar foods, and this includes straightforward sugars like fruit. You are allowed one cheat day throughout the week. By eating this blend of foods and avoiding heavy, starchy carbohydrates, you basically turn your body into a fat burning furnace as it is forced to now burn the existing fat for energy, rather than rely on using the heavy carb foods as power sources. practice isn't even required for this fat burning process to occur.

They ordinarily take 6-12 weeks out before a competition, and ease into this type of eating, with the last 4 weeks following this style to a tee. While they do still practice in the form of lifting weights and cardiovascular exercise, they have to keep it to a minimum, or to a much less intensity, since overtraining while dieting can cause muscle loss.

So does the "20 pounds in 30 days diet" in effect work? To be fair 20 pounds is a lot to expect, but it can be done depending on your current weight and excess fat stores. Nevertheless you without fail can lose a lot of weight with this style of eating, and it in effect is one of the quickest ways to shed fat.
